Matt Mangene Selected as An ECHL All-Star

ESTERO, FL - The ECHL and the Florida Everblades are pleased to announced that defenseman Matt Mangene has been named to the ECHL All-Stars for the 2015 CMM/ECHL All Star Classic presented by Visit Orlando. The CMM/ECHL All-Star Classic will take place at the Amway Center on January 21 at 7:00 p;m.
Mangene, who is currently on loan to the American Hockey League's Texas Stars, has posted 17 points (4g, 13a) in 23 games played with the Everblades this season. Mangene joined Texas on December 22, and has logged five assists in eight appearances.
Last season the 5-11, 190-pound blue liner recorded six points (3g, 3a) in 51 games with the Adirondack Phantoms (AHL) and was scoreless in ten appearances with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL). In addition, Mangene registered six points (1g, 5a) in four games played with the Stockton Thunder (ECHL).
Mangene recorded 11 points in 41 total games played with Adirondack from 2011-2013, and logged six assists in 14 appearances with the Trenton Titans during the 2012-13 season
The Manorville, New York native totaled 55 points (20g, 40a) during his three-year collegiate career at the University of Maine from 2009-2012.
The starting lineups are determined in a vote of coaches, team captains, media relations directors, broadcasters and members of the media. Coaches also submit the players who they feel are the top prospects from their team and other teams in their conference which helps determine the final roster. Each of the ECHL teams has either a starter, reserve or alternate named for the ECHL All-Star Classic.
