Quotes
"We competed, but the way they play you have to be aware. They always cheat guys in behind you and we talked about it before the third and sure enough they get a guy in behind us, we get a bit at the net, and it comes out the other way on the breakaway. It's awareness all the time." - Coach Kromm on defending the Eagles
"We were focused on our play to the net. Puck went to the net, some traffic in front, and our forwards were tied up. They just fired it up to the guy that snuck behind the defense. Our defenseman were trying to keep the play alive and weren't aware of what went behind them." - Coach Kromm on Colorado's game winning, third period goal
"Our PK was fine, our goaltending was fine, but for us it's going to have to be our five-on-five. We have to get better while five-on-five. We need guys scoring even strength and pushing the pace a little bit. Right now our defense is undermanned with [Keith] Seabrook not playing and Mario [Larocque] picking up an injury in the second, we were short, so our forwards have to pick up the slack and get the job done." - Coach Kromm on his special teams again playing well
"It's getting pucks to the net, it's driving to the net, it's getting bodies to the net, not getting tied up in front and when a shot comes to try for the secondary scoring chance. We allow ourselves to get tied up too easily." - Coach Kromm on what the team has to do to play better even strength
"The first one was a good chip by [Shawn Boutin] up the boards to kick Peter and I off on a two-on-one. Peter [Sivak] made a nice feed for the one-timer. The second one [Ryan Hayes] fed [Adam Phillips] and they found me and I just walked down main street and had the open shot." - Tyler Maxwell on both of his goals
"I think it's a confidence builder. Starting in Ontario we were kind of tic-tac-toeing it around and it just carried through our road trip." - Tyler Maxwell on the Thunder special teams
"I know it's frustrating at times, and luckily our special teams has been doing it for us, but we have to get it done five-on-five. Obviously our shot count isn't where we want it to be so we're just going to have to funnel everything to the net and get bodies there." - Tyler Maxwell on not scoring an even strength goal in 13 periods
