Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Visit Gladiators Tonight in First Contest of 2015

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays visit the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight at 7:05 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. Tonight is the seventh of 16 meetings between to the two East-Division rivals this season.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays hold a 4-2-0-0 head-to-head record against the Gladiators and are currently on a four-game winning streak against their division rivial. All time, the Stingrays sit with a 70-52-13 record. Forward Braden Pimm actively leads the Stingrays against the Gladiators with four points (four goals). Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis is 3-0-0-0 against Gwinnett with a 1.33 goals-against average and .933 save percentage.

Holiday Season Extension?

The Stingrays went 9-2-1-0 in December and earned points in 13 of their last 15 contests (12-2-1-0).

Team Defense Shines:

The Stingrays are second in the ECHL in overall goals-against average (2.56) and shots-against average (26.38). Goaltender Adam Morrison and Jeff Jakaitis stand first and second in the ECHL with a 1.90 and 1.97 goals-against average. Morrison is also first in save percentage (.931) while Jakaitis stands third (.924).
