
Mannelly Snaps Losing Streak with Walk-Off

Traverse City, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters snap their three game losing streak with a walk-off in game three of the series against the Kokomo Jackrabbits, 3-2 in front of a crowd of 2,749 fans at Turtle Creek Stadium. The Pit Spitters record improves to 28-18, and 6-5 in the second half.
The Jackrabbits offense started early in the first inning with a Tyler Ganus walk. Camden Hayslip came through in the next at-bat and tripled to center field, scoring Ganus to take a 1-0 lead. The Pit Spitters offense got going in the bottom of the third inning as Tyler Minnick drew a leadoff walk. Andrew Mannelly then singled to right field advancing Minnick from first to third to put runners in scoring position. Jack Crighton came through with a double to right field scoring Minnick and Mannelly to take a 2-1 lead. Hayslip led off the top of the fourth inning for the Jackrabbits, legging out an infield hit and beating the throw from Traficante to first. Hayslip then swiped second as Karson Hesser drew a walk, leaving runners on first and second. Vincent Temesvary singled to center field to score Hayslip to tie the game at 2-2. Entering the bottom of the ninth tied at 2-2, Parker Brosius began a two-out rally with a single to right field. Minnick and Cole Prout drew a walk to load up the bases. Mannelly came through with a single to left center field, scoring Brosius to walk off the Jackrabbits 3-2.
The Pit Spitters improve to 28-18 on the season and 6-5 in the second half, while the Jackrabbits drop to a 17-29 overall record and 4-8 in the second half. Pit Spitters starting pitcher, Jake Michel threw five and a third innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks striking out five. Hayden Jactzak threw three and two thirds' innings out of the bullpen, and gave up one hit while striking out five, earning the win.
