The Pit Spitters were looking to get ahead quickly against one of the Northwoods League's best offenses. In the top of the second inning, Adam Broski led off with a single followed with a walk drawn by Brooks Sartain to put two runners on with no outs. For the final game of the homestand the pitchers were showing out, and the Pit Spitters Grant Garman was headlining the duel. Garman, who was in his final start with the Pit Spitters, continued his untouchable start to the season. He threw six scoreless innings, allowing five hits, no walks while striking out two. After losing three of the first four games of the season against the Pit Spitters, the Growlers started out on the right foot tonight. With runners on the corners and two outs, Trevor Johnson singled scoring Will Bowen to give them a 1-0 lead. After leaving 15 runners on base in last night's game, the Pit Spitters sought after clutch hitting this evening. Brett Rozman kept the bottom of the first inning alive with an infield single.
