Los Angeles Trades Lehoux To Phoenix For Jackman

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have acquired right wing Tim Jackman from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for center Yanick Lehoux, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced Thursday. The Kings have assigned Jackman to Manchester.
Jackman, 24, has no points and 21 penalty minutes in eight games with the Coyotes this season. In addition, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Minot, North Dakota, has 20 points (7-13=20) and a team-leading 127 penalty minutes in 50 games with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
Jackman was originally selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second-round (38th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and was acquired by the Coyotes along with left wing Geoff Sanderson for left wing Jason Chimera, defenseman Cale Hulse and center Mike Rupp on October 8, 2005. He has three points (1-2=3) and 37 penalty minutes in 27 career NHL regular season games with the Coyotes and the Blue Jackets.
Lehoux, 23, claimed off waivers and assigned by the Kings to the Monarchs on November 25, has 16 points (6-10=16) and 23 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Monarchs this season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Repentigny, Quebec, also has one goal and two penalty minutes in three games with the Coyotes - who claimed him off waivers from the Kings on November 5 - this season.
Lehoux was originally selected by the Kings in the third-round (86th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
The Monarchs return to the ice on Friday, March 10 at 7:35 p.m. to host the Binghamton Senators at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
