Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies, in conjunction with their game operations staff, are getting ready for one of their most anticipated promotion events of the season as they host Hanson Night this Friday evening when the team faces the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:30 p.m. A number of exciting events are scheduled to take place in the 60 minutes leading up to game-time, and then throughout the game and during the second intermission.

Highlights of the Hanson Brothers' first visit to Ricoh Coliseum include a pre-game introduction, a first intermission autograph signing in Marlies Alley, two in-game skits, a live interview on-screen during the game and a second intermission on-ice performance. Fans will have the opportunity to win prizes for those most resembling Jack, Jeff and Steve Hanson (played by Dave Hanson, Jeff Carlson and Steve Carlson respectively) from the famed hockey movie Slap Shot. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early as a ‘new-and-improved' starting lineup will take to the ice in the moments leading up to puck-drop.

Once the game begins, prizes will be handed-out at various breaks in the action. The Hanson Brothers will participate in the Bell Trivia contest which is held during each game and is likely to feature questions regarding ‘old-time hockey'. Friday's game is also the first of four March Mayhem matches as the team celebrates the annual March Break week. The team will depart, sans-Hansons, for Syracuse at the conclusion of Friday's game but returns on Sunday to tangle with the Manitoba Moose at 5:00 p.m.
