Columbus Recalls Hartigan

Syracuse, NY (March 9, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled left wing Mark Hartigan and have assigned left wing Cam Severson.

Hartigan has picked up 1 goal with 12 penalty minutes in 14 games with Columbus this season. He has recorded 34 goals, 41 assists in 49 games with Syracuse. He currently ranks fourth in the AHL in points and goals (tied), and is tied for sixth in plus/minus rating. Hartigan's nine game-winning goals are tops in the AHL.

Hartigan signed with Columbus as a free agent on July 16, 2003. The Fort St. John, British Columbia native has 7 goals, 5 assists and 26 penalty minutes in 48 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Atlanta Thrashers. The former NCAA All-American and Hobey Baker Award finalist with St. Cloud State was Syracuse's top goal scorer in 2004-05 with 31 goals, 28 assists and 105 penalty minutes in 69 games.

Severson was acquired by the Blue Jackets from Calgary in exchange for defenseman Cale Hulse on February 28. He has skated in four NHL games this season, all with Columbus, registering five penalty minutes. The native of Canora, Saskatchewan has added 13 goals, 7 assists and 146 penalty minutes in 54 AHL games this season, all with Omaha before his trade to the Blue Jackets.
