SpongeBob, Skates and Football at River Rats Game This Saturday

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that SpongeBob Squarepants will be appear in person at the club's game against the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday March 11, 2006 at 5:00pm. The team will also hold a post-game skate with the players for all Hannaford Supermarkets Kids Club members.

The first 200 children 12 and under will receive a FREE photograph with SpongeBob, while everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to enter to win a SpongeBob Squarepants prize package including a SpongeBob Rice Paper Lamp, SpongeBob Pop-Up Storage Chest, SpongeBob Magnetic Memory Board and a SpongeBob Switch-Em Up. Fans will also have the opportunity to win other great prizes including Wild Thornberry necklaces and more courtesy of Time Warner Cable Media Sales.

All children attending the game will be able to skate with their favorite River Rat players on the ice as the team will host sign up tables on the concourse for kids to become members of the Hannaford Supermarkets Kids Club. Those wishing to skate on the ice after the game are advised to bring their own skates to the 5:00pm contest.

Albany Conquest Head Coach Pete Costanza will also conduct an af2 tutorial on the concourse to provide insight into arena football strategy in preparation of the team's fifth anniversary season next month. Fans will have the opportunity to ask Coach Costanza questions and get autographs from Conquest players including quarterback Ryan Vena.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
