San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 9, 2006) - The Phoenix Coyotes today announced that they have re-acquired center Yanick Lehoux from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for right wing Tim Jackman. Lehoux was immediately assigned to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL), the Coyotes' top minor league affiliate.

Lehoux has registered 11-6-17 and 25 penalty minutes (PIM) in 36 games in the AHL this season with Manchester and San Antonio. The 23-year-old also recorded one goal and 2 PIM in three games with the Coyotes this season. Lehoux made his NHL debut with the Coyotes at Minnesota on Nov. 8 and scored 65 seconds into the game on his first shift. It was the fastest goal ever by a Coyotes' player making his NHL debut.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward also played in the Swiss National League this season with Geneve-Servette and Basel, registering a combined 5-4-9 and 10 PIM in 11 games.

The Coyotes originally acquired Lehoux off waivers from Los Angeles on Nov. 5 before being sent to San Antonio for a conditioning assignment on Nov. 14. After playing five games with the Rampage, the Kings claimed Lehoux off waivers from the Coyotes on Nov. 25 and assigned him to Manchester, their top minor league affiliate.

Last season, Lehoux collected 23-31-54 in 38 games with Manchester before a knee injury ended his season. At the time of his injury, he was leading the entire AHL in both goals and points.

Lehoux had a great junior career with Baie-Comeau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), tallying 164 goals, 218 assists and 382 points in 266 games over four seasons from 1998-99 through 2001-02. He ranked 2nd in the QMJHL with 67 goals and 4th in the league with 135 points in 2000-01.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Lehoux was originally drafted by Los Angeles in the 3rd round (86th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Jackman collected 21 PIM in eight games with the Coyotes this season. In 50 games with San Antonio, he recorded 7-13-20 and 127 PIM. The Coyotes acquired Jackman with Geoff Sanderson from Columbus for Jason Chimera, Cale Hulse, and Mike Rupp on Oct. 8, 2005.
