Las Vegas Moves to 9-0-1 At Home

Las Vegas, NV - Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Idaho Steelheads 5-3 on Saturday night in front of 5,779 fans at the Orleans Arena. Forward Matt Dzeiduszycki and Charles Linglet each scored a goal and added two assists as Las Vegas remained unbeaten in regulation at home this season (9-0-1). Winger Steve Crampton also scored a goal and added an assists as Las Vegas moved to within one point of Idaho in the West division standings. Las Vegas goalie Mike McKenna stayed unbeaten this season with 23 saves, improving his record to 5-0-1. The Wranglers will host Johnstown at 7:05 pm on Tuesday night.

Idaho tallied the first goal of the night as D'Arcy McConvey scored his eighth goal of the season with a snap shot just 2:29 into the opening period.

The Steelheads led until the 3:17 mark of the second period when Charles Linglet scored his first goal as a Wrangler. Dzeiduszycki and Crampton set up the power-play goal, tying the game at one. Las Vegas would take the lead eight minutes later with their second power-play goal of the night. Defenseman Tim Hambly cranked a one-timer for his third goal of the season as the Wranglers moved ahead 2-1.

Las Vegas extended the lead to 3-1 just forty seconds into the third period with their third power-play goal of the evening. Crampton redirected a Christian Chartier shot from the right point for his fifth goal of the season. The Steelheads countered quickly with goals by Kevin Gardner and David Bararuk to tie the game at three with 15:15 left in the contest. Las Vegas answered back with two goals in a four-minute span. Linglet held the puck in at the left point and sent a shot to the Idaho net as Steve Silverthorn made the initial save. The rebound squirted free to Dzeiduszycki who poked in his sixth of the season with a one-handed effort at 11:21. The Wranglers capped off the scoring for the night when Linglet sent a behind-the-back pass to the slot for Derek Edwardson. The Wranglers center then sniped his seventh goal of the season at 14:42 for the 5-3 final.

The Wranglers will host the Johnstown Chiefs at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday, December 6th at 7:05 pm.
