Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have announced that forward Cory Pecker has been returned from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. He is expected to be in the line-up when the RoadRunners meet the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Sunday at the Long Beach Ice Arena.
Pecker, 24, appeared in three games for the Rampage and collected an assist. He finished with a plus-one rating. The Montreal, Quebec native and four-year professional leads the RoadRunners in scoring with nine goals and 20 points through 14 games. Pecker opened the season with an ECHL season-high and career-best 11-game scoring streak, including a stretch where he recorded multiple points in six consecutive games. He has 44 goals and 93 points in 226 career games.
In other transactions, Phoenix has placed forward Blake Robson on waivers and forward Brad Wanchulak on the seven-day injured reserve.
Hey RoadRunners' fans, do you want to own a piece of history? The commemorative vintage jerseys the RoadRunners wore in last Saturday's game against Long Beach to celebrate the 1977-78 squad that advanced to the Pacific Hockey League Championship, are now available for purchase through a special online auction that can be accessed at www.phxroadrunners.com. The auction will run through Thursday, December 15 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the ECHL/Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Fund.
Phoenix will travel to Long Beach to open a four-game road trip against the Ice Dogs at 6PM MST on Sunday. Catch all the action live on News-Talk Radio 1100AM KFNX and online at www.phxroadrunners.com through Pro Sports Radio beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 5:40PM.
The RoadRunners, in conjunction with the Maricopa County Head Start Program, will host the first annual "Teddy Bear Toss" at 7:11PM on Friday, December 16 when Phoenix entertains the Bakersfield Condors at America West Arena. Bring a teddy bear with you to the game and toss it onto the ice when the RoadRunners score their first goal. All teddy bears collected will be donated to Head Start just in time for the holiday season. Stuffington Bear Factory will also be at the game selling teddy bears for $5.
