Titans edge Bombers 2-1

TRENTON, NJ - Chris Pittman and Scott Bertoli each registered a goal and an assist as the Trenton Titans notched a 2-1 victory of the Dayton Bombers in front of 3,821 at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Despite being outshot 16-9 in the first period and having to kill off two penalties, the Titans were able to sneak into the locker room with the score remaining 0-0.

Trenton turned the tables on Dayton in the second period, as the Titans fired 18 shots to the Bombers' six and Scott Bertoli scored a power play goal at 4:00 of the frame.

The Titans maintained the 1-0 lead until the end of the second. But Dayton's leading goal-scorer, Jeff Szwez scored his 12th of the season just 56 seconds into the third period.

Trenton reclaimed the lead at 12:41 of the third when Pittman scored his third goal of the year, sending a rebound trickling pass Mike Brown and across the goal line. Bertoli tallied his second point of the night with an assist, and Mathieu Brunelle earned the second assist on the play.

Goalie Dustin Traylen held the Bombers in check the rest of the contest, en route to the Titans 2-1 victory. In earning his second with of the season, Draylen made 33 saves, including 11 in the final period.

Trenton finished the game 5-for-5 on the penalty kill and 1-for-4 on the power play.
