Lapierre scores first NHL goal

MONTREAL, QC - Forward Maxim Lapierre scored his first-career NHL goal last night (Thursday, December 14th) in the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre.

Other ex-Dogs that contributed offensively last night for the Canadiens were:

- C Tomas Plekanec - one assist

- C Garth Murray - one assist

- D Mike Komisarek - one assist

- G Cristobal Huet - 41 saves on 43 shots

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.

The Bulldogs return to action at 7:35 p.m. tonight (Friday, December 15th) when they travel to Rochester to take on the Americans at Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.
