Albany River Rats News Release

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats today announced that center Keith Aucoin has been recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes. Aucoin will fill left wing Andrew Ladd's spot on the Hurricanes roster. Ladd underwent an emergency appendectomy Thursday in Raleigh, NC.

Aucoin has appeared in 20 games with the River Rats this season, leading the American Hockey League club in points (28), goals (10), assists (18), power play goals (four) and game-winning goals (three). The 28-year-old Waltham, Mass., native is currently tied for 10th in the AHL in points and tied for seventh in assists.

This marks Aucoin's second recall to Carolina this season. He played in one game during his initial recall in October, and has one assist in eight career NHL games.

The River Rats will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they take on the Providence Bruins Saturday, December 16 at 7:05 p.m. at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
