
Komets Add Lapointe; Busy Weekend Starts with Visit from IceMen Tonight

Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets will skate three games in three nights this weekend starting with a visit from Evansville tonight at 8:00. The Komets travel to Bloomington to face the PrairieThunder Saturday at 8:05pm E.T. before returning home to host the Mississippi RiverKings Sunday at 5pm.
Friday nights are Marathon Nights at Komet home games. Fans can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with three fill-ups when the Komets host the Evansville IceMen tonight at 8:00. Next Friday night Marathon night will be Feb. 4 when the Komets host Wichita. Fill Up Cards are available at participating Marathon stations.
Sunday's Komet home game will feature another free Wendy's Family Skate with the Komets immediately following the Komets game against the RiverKings.
Lapointe added to roster -- The Komets announced today that forward Danny Lapointe has been added to the roster and is expected to be in the lineup tonight against the IceMen on Coliseum ice. The Komets acquired the rights to Lapointe from Mississippi for considerations.
Lapointe, 26, started this season skating in the Netherlands elite league with Ruijters Eaters Geleen. The Victoria, British Columbia native scored 16 goals, 29 points and 71 penalty minutes in 24 games with Ruijters. Last season Lapointe split the season with Dayton and Flint registering 20 goals, 44 points and 60 penalty minutes in the IHL. Lapointe skated stints in the CHL with Oklahoma City and Rio Grande Valley in 2007-08.
Roster moves -- In additional player moves the Komets waived winger Olivier Legault, activated forward Kaleigh Schrock from the injured reserve list, placed center Mathieu Curadeau on 10-day injured reserve and placed defenseman Keith Rodger on bereavement leave.
Komet games this weekend will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and webcast free at www.Komets.com at Xfinity KometCast with Bob Chase radio-rinkside.
