Wichita Thunder News Release

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder announced several roster moves on Friday, led by the acquisition of left wing Dustin Donaghy from the Allen Americans in exchange for future considerations. The Thunder also placed left wing Troy Schwab on the 10-Day IR, while activating forward Ryan Hand.

Donaghy (pronounced DON-uh-hee) skated in 23 games this season for Allen, scoring six goals, one assist, and adding 43 PIM. Just 21 years old, Donaghy made his professional debut during the Americans' Southern Conference championship run last spring, appearing in two playoff games.

A native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Donaghy played three seasons of Major Juniors in the WHL. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound Donaghy split the 2009-10 season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Spokane Chiefs, combining for 13 points and 98 PIM in 66 games. A left-handed shot, Donaghy's best statistical junior season came with Spokane in 2008-09 where he scored 10 goals, 24 points, and tallied 129 PIM. Donaghy also played two seasons of junior hockey in his home province for the BCHL's Penticton Vees.

Hand has been on the 10-Day IR retroactive to his last game on December 27th, and is expected to be in the lineup tonight against Texas. Schwab, who was scratched from last Saturday's game versus Bloomington, has 27 points in 29 games played this season.

The Thunder hosts the Texas Brahmas tonight at 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call the arena box office at (316) 755-SEAT or visit the Thunder's official website at www.wichitathunder.com.
