Charlotte Knights News Release
(NORFOLK, VA) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game four of the seven-game series by a score of 3-1 in 10 innings on Thursday afternoon from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. Norfolk left fielder Josh Lester launched a two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game for the Tides.
RHP Chase Solesky started the game for the Knights and turned in his most impressive start of the season. Solesky, who did not factor in the decision, allowed just one unearned run over 6.2 strong innings. He also allowed just five hits on the day and recorded two strikeouts.
The Knights managed just one run for Solesky, a sacrifice-fly RBI by second baseman Nate Mondou in the top of the fifth inning. Center fielder Adam Haseley had Charlotte's lone hit of the day, a triple in the top of the fifth inning. He also scored Charlotte's only run of the afternoon.
RHP Jordan Leasure (0-2, 40.50), who was recently acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 28, was charged with the loss. He came on to pitch the 10th inning and allowed the two-run home run to Lester to win the game.
The Knights have dropped three of four games so far in the series against the Tides. Thursday's loss dropped the Knights to 5-25 in the second half.
The two teams will continue the six-day, seven-game series on Friday night. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com. First pitch on Friday night is set for 6:35 p.m. from Harbor Park.
