(MOOSIC, PA) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders topped the Rochester Red Wings 6-5 on Thursday night. The team battled for their third straight win behind eleven hits and Andres Chaparro's 20th long ball of the season.

The RailRiders took an early lead plating three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Franchy Cordero walked to reach. Back-to-back singles from Jamie Westbrook and Brandon Lockridge loaded the bases. Wilmer Difo put a ball in play and drove in a run, reaching on an error. Oswald Peraza followed with a two RBI base hit for a 3-0 advantage.

In the next frame Chaparro led off with a home run. Carlos Narvaez followed with a walk of his own and Cordero singled to get aboard. Westbrook drew a walk to load the bases yet again. Lockridge grounded into a double play but it brought in another to lead 5-0.

The Red Wings saw a solo shot from Pottsville-native Travis Blankenhorn to begin the fourth. His teammate Erick Mejia smoked a homer as well, this time to lead off the fifth. Rochester was down 5-2.

In the top of the seventh, the Red Wings came barreling back. Darren Baker and Luis Garcia laced back-to-back to drive in two runs. A fielder's choice off the bat of Jake Doll drove in the tying run to tie things at five apiece.

But, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was there once again in the bottom half. Austin Wells led off with a double down the right field line to get into scoring position. Narvaez did the same up the third base side to bring Wells home for a 6-5 advantage.

Will Warren impressed with his quality start allowing just two runs in six innings of work. He struck out six. Aaron McGarity (W, 5-2) had a clean 1.2 frames of work. Matt Bowman (S, 5) slammed the door shut in the ninth.

Alex Troop allowed five runs, four earned, in his Triple-A debut. Luis Reyes followed with three shutout innings. Luis Cessa (0-3) let up the game winning run in the eighth.

The RailRiders take on the Red Wings tomorrow night at PNC Field. Righty Clayton Beeter is scheduled for Friday's first pitch at 6:35 PM.
