
Kings Activate Parros, Send Four Players To Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated right wing George Parros from the injured reserve list and assigned left wing Noah Clarke, center Connor James, right wing Petr Kanko and defenseman Richard Petiot to the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Parros, 25, was placed on the injured reserve list with an ankle sprain on January 2 (retroactive to December 29) after suffering the injury on December 28 in a game against Colorado. The 6-foot-5, 232-pound native of Washington, Pennsylvania, has missed the club's last six games with the injury. Selected by the Kings in the eighth-round (222nd overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Parros has four points (1-3=4), 56 penalty minutes and a plus-5 rating in 23 games with the Kings this season, his first in the NHL.
Clarke, 26, has played in five games with the Kings this season, and has zero points and zero penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 193-pound native of La Verne has also played in 32 games with the Monarchs this season, where he ranks third on the team with 25 points (6-19=25). Originally selected by the Kings in the ninth-round (250th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Clarke also has 21 penalty minutes and a plus-9 rating with the Monarchs this season.
James, 23, has played in two games with the Kings this season, and has zero points and zero penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of Calgary also has 22 points (9-13=22), 22 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating in 33 games with the Monarchs this season. Originally selected by the Kings in the ninth-round (279th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, James agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Kings on January 4 and was recalled that day.
Kanko, 21, has played in 10 games with the Kings this season, and has one goal and zero penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 201-pound native of Pribram, Czech Republic, has also played in 22 games with the Monarchs this season, totaling 10 points (6-4=10). Originally selected by the Kings in the third-round (66th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Kanko also has 19 penalty minutes and a team-leading two shorthanded goals with the Monarchs this season.
Petiot, 23, was recalled by the Kings on January 5 and has not appeared in a game with the Kings this season. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, has eight points (3-5=8), 26 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating in 29 games with the Monarchs this season. The Kings originally selected Petiot in the fourth-round (116th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
The Monarchs host the Atlantic Division leading Portland Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, January 11 at 7:05 p.m.
