Wood Reassigned To Phantoms

PHILADELPHIA - It was announced today that defenseman Stephen Wood was reassigned by the Philadelphia Flyers from Trenton of the ECHL to the Phantoms.

The 6-2, 210 pound blueliner departs Philadelphia's ECHL affiliate as the team's leading scoring defenseman and second overall on the Titans with 21 points. In 31 games, he has scored six goals and tabbed 15 assists: 31(6/15/21). He is tied for second on the club with 61 points. Wood, 24, has played two games for the Phantoms this season and was held scoreless on Dec. 16 and 17.

Last season, Wood helped lead the Titans to the ECHL's Kelly Cup title and also participated in 24 games for the Phantoms.

Wood will make the trip with the Phantoms to Winnipeg this week for games on Friday and Saturday night. Philadelphia's next home action is Friday, Jan. 20 when the Hershey Bears come to the Wachovia Spectrum for a 7:05 tilt.
