Bruno Gervais Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of defenseman Bruno Gervais by the big club. Gervais was recalled by the Islanders this evening and joins forward Sean Bergenheim, who was recalled Monday, with the Islanders in Nashville where they will visit the Predators.

Gervais has two penalty minutes in four games with the Islanders this year and returns to the NHL after leading the Sound Tigers and all AHL defensemen with 13 goals. He also has 14 assists, 27 points and 50 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

The Sound Tigers will finish a five-game homestand when they host the Hartford Wolf Pack tomorrow, Wednesday, January 11th, at 7:35 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com.
