Portland Pirates News Release
On Sunday, Curtis Glencross scored two goals, including the game winner to pace the Pirates to a 5-3 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Yesterday Dieter Kochan was named the Pirates Player of the Week. Kochan earned his first shutout on Saturday and made a season-high 53 saves on Sunday. On Wednesday, Kochan will join "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM at 8:00 a.m.

Friday, January 13th - Pirates vs. Bruins 7:05 p.m.
3:30 p.m. Doors open. Meet drivers and see their race cars, plus a silent auction will feature sports memorabilia provided by Grandstand Sports.
5:30 p.m. Former NASCAR driver and motivational speaker Jerry Nadeau.
7:05 p.m. Pirates vs. Bruins - During the game, the Pirates will giveaway 3 pairs of tickets to the Jeff Gordon Gala, 10 pairs of tickets and one pair of VIP passes to the Carrie Underwood Concert and a season pass to Oxford Plains Speedway. Fans can also enter to win a chance to race Jerry Nadeau at the Maine Indoor Karting!
Saturday, January 14th- Carrie Underwood Concert
3:00 p.m. Carrie Underwood and the Don Campbell Band concert to benefit The Jeff Gordon Foundation. Tickets are available by calling the Civic Center Box Office at 207-775-3458.
7:00 p.m. NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon, along with the Portland Pirates, the Bill Dodge Auto Group, WPOR 101.9FM, FOX-23 and Get-Etched.com, will partner in presenting "The Winter Wonderland Gala with Jeff Gordon & Friends." This sold-out event will take place at the Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland to benefit The Jeff Gordon Foundation.
On Friday, January 13th visit Thatcher's Restaurant and Sports Pub at their Westbrook locations and enter to win tickets to the Pirates game against Providence Bruins on January 13th. On the 13th Thatcher's will clear off the deck for a tailgate party, then the winners will take a bus down to the game courtesy of the Portlan! d Pirates and Thatcher's Restaurant and be treated like a king or queen for the night. There will be great Shipyard specials and fabulous giveaways, and you will be sitting in a special located at the game for the ultimate Pirates fan. Don't forget to visit Thatcher's to sign up each week December 16th through January 13th, no purchase necessary.
Friday, January 27th vs. Springfield 7:05 p.m. - The Portland Pirates are teaming up with Junior Achievement for the "Expeditionary Learning High School Game". Nineteen ninth grade students at Portland's Expeditionary Learning High School will present, execute and sell tickets for the game against Springfield. The students have planned a Pirate costume contest so be sure to wear your best Pirate attire. After the game, there will be a skate with the team.

IN THE COMMUNITY
On Sunday, January 15th, the Pirates will take part in the 6th Annual Maine Winterfest in Freeport. Pirates players will be skating at the Depot Street Parking lots from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, January 25th, Portland Pirates players will be at the new Hannaford in Portland on route 302 at 787 Riverside Street from 6-7 p.m. The Pirates will meet with fans, sign autographs, and giveaway Pirates tickets!
