Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

Last Weeks Highlights:

3/10/06 > Long Beach 4 vs. Stockton 5 (SO)

The Ice Dogs figured to get two points Friday night against the last place Thunder, but squandered a three goal lead and eventually lost in a shootout. Ash Goldie had two goals and an assist in his first game back from a leg injury, and Marco Rosa contributed a goal and an assist before breaking his arm in the third period. Stockton scored on all three shots in the shootout and stopped all three of the Ice Dogs' shots. Greg Hewitt took the overtime loss for Long Beach with 34 saves and the Ice Dogs finished 1-4 on the power play.

3/11/06 > Long Beach 3 vs. San Diego 2

The Ice Dogs won for the first time in their last four games Saturday night in an exciting match that wasn't decided until the final few minutes. Michael Lambert had two goals for Long Beach and Christian Larrivee scored the game winner shorthanded with just over seven minutes to go in the game. Zach Sikich made his first ever start for the Ice Dogs, earning the win with 18 saves. Neither team scored on the power play, with Long Beach going 0-6 and San Diego going 0-5.

3/12/06 > Long Beach 3 vs. Bakersfield 2

Cory Urquhart nearly single handedly beat the Bakersfield Condors Sunday night, scoring all three goals for the Ice Dogs to get a natural hat trick. The start of the game was delayed two hours as Bakersfield was stuck in bad weather coming down to Long Beach. It was the second consecutive win for Long Beach, which extended its lead over Bakersfield by nine points in the Pacific Division. Olivier Michaud got the win with 25 saves. Neither team managed a power play goal, with the Ice Dogs going 0-2 and Condors going 0-5.
