STORM NOTES
- Welcome to the post season! Last week, Toledo punched its card for the post season for the second consecutive season. It is the first time since 1998-99 that a Storm has tasted the second season in back-to-back years. Kelly Cup Playoff Packages are now available! - High Water Mark! With the 3-1-0 week, Toledo has improved its record to a season high 16 games above .500. The back-to-back road wins in Trenton also placed Toledo in a second place with the Wheeling Nailers and has the Storm just 4 points behind the first place Reading Royals. Toledo is 8-2-0 in its 10 games with only Gwinnett (8-0-2) and Las Vegas (8-1-1) has better records in the last 10 games than the Storm.
- Shooting the opposition! Toledo has gone 21 consecutive games in which they have out shot an opponent. The last time Toledo did not out shoot an opponent was February 4th in a 1-4 loss at Trenton. In the 21 games, the Storm has sent 805 shots on goal, an average of 38.3 per game. During the same stretch, the Storm has allowed just 548 shots on Storm goaltenders (average of 26.0).
- Power Play! Toledo's PP connected twice-in three opportunities Sunday in Trenton. For the season Toledo ranks 13th at 18.3% (71 goals in 388 chances).
- Penalty Kill! Overall Toledo has stopped 288 of 343 power play chances against (84.0%) and ranks 7th in the ECHL.
STORM WATCH
- Storm Coach's Show! The Toledo Storm Coach's Show returns to the airways Tuesday night. Storm assistant coach Stan Drulia will join Head Coach Nick Vitucci and Matt Melzak this week at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company. The show can be heard live on Dominion 1520 JAMZ.
- The Week Ahead! Toledo starts the week with back-to-back games at the Toledo Sports Arena against the Trenton Titans. The first is Wednesday night at 7:05pm and the two teams meet again on Friday night. Toledo has taken four consecutive against the Titans and is 6-2-0 versus Trenton this season. Saturday night features a quick run to Johnstown for a meeting with the Chiefs. Toledo has taken 5 of the first 8 season meetings, but Johnstown won the last match 1-0 on February 24th. Sunday afternoon, the Storm returns to Toledo hosting the first place Royals. Reading took the last meeting Friday night 3-1, but Toledo has won 8 of the previous 11 meetings.
