
Wranglers set club record for wins and points

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 3-0-0 record for the week by sweeping the Salmon Kings in Victoria starting with a 6-2 victory at Save On Foods Memorial Centre on Wednesday night. Friday night, the Wranglers edged Victoria 3-2 and followed up with a 4-1 win on Saturday night.
The Wranglers continue their season-long, nine-game road trip with two games in Phoenix on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:11 pm (PST). Las Vegas returns home for a three-game series with the Alaska Aces on Friday, Saturday and next Tuesday. Friday March 17th, the Wranglers will wear specialty jerseys for St. Patrick's Day. The jerseys, sponsored by McMullan's Irish Pub, the official Irish Pub of the Las Vegas Wranglers, will be available for purchase through a silent auction on the concourse during the game.
Also, Bright orange "Dick Cheney" hunting vests with the slogan "DON'T SHOOT, I'M HUMAN" will be given to the first 1,000 fans that attend the Las Vegas Wranglers game on Friday, March 17, the Wranglers announced Tuesday. The vest will also feature a Wranglers' logo.

Victoria, BC - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings 6-2 at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre on Wednesday night. Victoria native Sean O'Connor and center Matt Dzieduszycki each scored twice and added an assist to lead Las Vegas to victory. Forwards Marco Peluso and Dan Tudin also scored. Defenseman Mike McBain and right wing Steve Crampton each dished out two assists. Making his 18th consecutive start, goalie Marc Magliarditi made 21 saves for his team-record, 30th win of the season.

Victoria, BC - The Las Vegas Wranglers edged the Victoria Salmon Kings 3-2 at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre on Friday night. Right wing Steve Crampton's goal with 1:53 remaining in regulation ended a 2-2 tie and gave the Wranglers the win. Forward Dan Tudin and Darren Lynch also scored. Goalie Mike McKenna stopped 25 Salmon Kings shots for the victory.

Las Vegas 4 at Victoria 1
Victoria, BC - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Victoria Salmon Kings 4-1 at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre on Saturday night. Winger Marco Peluso scored twice and left wing Dan Tudin scored his league-leading, seventh shorthanded goal of the season. Las Vegas rookie goalie Mike McKenna improved to 14-1-1 with 35 saves. The Wranglers broke the team record for wins in one season with their 44th and points at 94, passing the 43 wins and 93 points set during the 2003-04 season.

Phoenix Roadrunners - (19-37-3, 47 Points) - Las Vegas is 4-0-1 against the Roadrunners this season. The Wranglers lost the last meeting between these two clubs with a 3-2 shootout loss at Phoenix on January 19th. The Roadrunners have traded away forwards J.F. Soucy (San Diego) and Ben Knopp (Long Beach), along with defensemen Dave Cousineau (Long Beach) and Shaun Fisher (San Diego) in the last week. Rookie goalie Mike Mole is 15-27-3 on the season with a 3.26 goals against average.
Alaska Aces - (47-9-4, 98 Points) - Las Vegas is 1-3-0 against the Aces this season. The Wranglers won the last meeting between these two clubs on February 7th at the Orleans Arena by a total of 7-1. The Aces will be without all-star defenseman Ryan Gaucher who was loaned to the AHL's Providence Bruins. Gaucher, a former Wrangler, leads all defensemen in scoring in the ECHL with 15 goals and 45 assists for 60 points in 45 games played. Alaska's rookie all-star center Alex Leavitt is one point back in the ECHL scoring race, trailing Idaho's Garett Bembridge, Gwinnett's Jeff Campbell and Fresno's Luke Curtin, all with 75 points each. Leavitt leads the ECHL with 56 assists in 60 games played. Alaska forward Mike Scott has the third highest total in the league for points with 73 (29G, 44A). Goalie Matt Underhill leads the league with a 2.06 goals against average, 5 shutouts, and 31 wins. With only four points separating the top two clubs in the ECHL, first place in the West Division could be on the line this weekend.
