ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades closed out this past week with a 1-1-0 record, which puts their overall mark at 37-19-3 (77 pts., 2nd South Division).
THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)
Tuesday, March 14 vs. Columbia Inferno 7:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades face the Inferno for the seventh of eight times this year, and for the final time at Germain Arena on Tuesday. The Everblades are 4-1-1 overall this season vs. Columbia. Four of the six meetings between the teams have been decided by one goal. The Inferno won the most recent match-up, staging a three-goal come-from-behind effort to win 5-4 on Saturday night at Germain Arena. The Everblades have scored at least one power play goal in the last four games vs. Columbia. The Inferno enter this week's action with a record of 21-32-7 (49 pts., 7th South Division) and are 9-18-3 on the road this season. The Everblades have an all-time record of 16-11-6 vs. Columbia, and are 9-3-4 all-time at home vs. the Inferno.
PROMOTIONS: Tuesday night the first 5,000 fans will receive an Everblades Poster when they enter the arena, courtesy of the YMCA.
Friday & Saturday, March 17 & 18 at Augusta Lynx Both Games 7:35 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades take on the Augusta Lynx for the seventh and eighth times this season when they travel to Augusta, GA this weekend. The South Division rivals have not faced each other since January 21 when the Lynx handed the Everblades a 5-1 loss at Germain Arena. Overall, the Everblades are 5-1-0 vs. Augusta this season, including 2-0-0 at the Augusta-Richmond Country Civic Center. Prior to the last meeting, the Everblades have scored a power play goal in each of the other five games between the teams, but have only allowed one power play goal to Augusta in the six match-ups. The Lynx enter this week's action with a record of 25-29-5 (55 pts., 6th South Division) and are 14-12-2 at home this season. The Everblades have an all-time record of 37-11-6 vs. Augusta, and are 16-6-3 all-time at Augusta.

Friday, March 10 vs. Columbia Inferno 7-2 Win
The Everblades used 53 shots and a trio of third period goals separated by 25 seconds to help upend the Columbia Inferno 7-2 in front of a standing room only crowd of 7,333 at Germain Arena. Columbia opened the scoring just 42 seconds in to game. The Everblades however wasted no time responding with John Ronan tallying the first of his two goals on the night just 22 seconds later. The Everblades broke the game open with three goals in the final 9:07 of the second period. Paul Cabana gave the Everblades the lead for good at 10:53 of the middle period. Reggie Berg followed with his eighth goal of the season 47seconds later, and Ryan Brindley collected a power play goal at 18:39 to give the Everblades a 4-1 lead after two periods. Columbia cut the lead in half just 36 seconds into the third period, but Kevin Bergin, Dustin Johner and Ronan scored in a 25 second span just prior to the midpoint of the third period to put the game away. The three-goal barrage was the fastest three goals scored in Everblades history, eclipsing the previous mark of 1:16 set during the 2000-01 season. Goaltender Kevin Nastiuk earned the win by stopping 25 Columbia shots to raise his record to 8-3-1. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-4; PK: 4-for-4.
Saturday, March 11 vs. Columbia Inferno 5-4 Loss
The Everblades watched the Columbia Inferno score three third period goals to erase a two-goal deficit and pull out a 5-4 win in front of a crowd of 7,166 at Germain Arena. For the second straight night the Inferno opened the scoring with a goals at 8:07 of the first period. Chris Lee tied the game for the Everblades notching his ninth goal of the season at 9:58 and Kevin Bergin gave the Everblades their first lead of the night at 16:58. Midway through the second period, the Inferno tied the game, but once again the Everblades persevered and tallied two late second period goals to open a 4-2 lead. Steve Saviano regained Florida's lead with a power play goal at 15:58 and just 50 seconds later Reggie Berg notched his ninth goal of the year to give the Everblades the two-goal lead. Despite starting the third period on the power play, the Everblades watched Columbia tally a short-handed goal just 30 seconds into the period, then battle back to tie the game at four at 8:55. Columbia completed the comeback with 7:45 remaining in regulation with a power play goal. Everblades goaltender Phil Osaer suffered the loss in net for the Everblades allowing the five goals on 37 Columbia shots, which dropped his record to 17-10-2. Everblades Special Teams Breakdown: After 59 games, here's a look at Florida's special teams breakdown heading into the week: The overall power play is ranked 2nd (75-for-343, 21.9%). At home, the 'Blades are ranked 4th (22.2%) and on the road, Florida is ranked 4th (21.4%). The overall penalty kill is ranked 6th (289-for-342, 84.5%). At home, the Everblades are ranked 8th (83.3%) and on the road the team ranks 5th (85.6%).
Record Setting Night: For the fifth time this season, the Everblades set a franchise record during their 7-2 win over the Columbia Inferno on Mar. 10. The Everblades scored three goals in a 25-second span in the third period, eclipsing the old mark of 1:16 set on October 13, 2000 vs. New Orleans. Kevin Bergin began the barrage at 7:55. Dustin Johner added his goal at 8:16, and John Ronan set the record by scoring just six seconds later. Already this season, the Everblades set team records for: Most Goals Scored by Both Teams in a Period (8), Most Power Play Chances in a Game (12), Most Power Play Chances Against in a Game (11), Most Power Play Goals Against in a Game (4), and the Fastest Two Goals Scored (3 seconds), which also tied an ECHL record.
Home Sweet Home: With one game remaining in their season-long eight-game home stand, the Everblades are 4-3-0. The stand will end on March 14, when the 'Blades depart for their longest road trip of the season, spanning two weeks and seven games. During the two and a half weeks on home ice, the Everblades faced Gwinnett twice, South Carolina twice, Charlotte once, and Columbia three times. After the 8-game stand comes to an end, the Everblades will only play two more games on home ice during the regular season.
League Leaders: Everblades forward Dan Sisca is 10th in overall scoring with his 65 points and is second among rookies in scoring, he also leads all rookies with his three short-handed goals ...defenseman Corey Neilson is sixth in scoring among ECHL defenseman with his 40 points...defenseman Chris Lee is tied for 12th among ECHL defenseman with 35 points...forward Ernie Hartlieb is tied for the league lead with three power play goals in one game... as a team, the Everblades are tied for the league lead with five power play goals in one game, and hold the longest streak for consecutive home wins with 12.
