Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
Last Weeks Highlights:
12/12/03 > Long Beach 3 at Fresno 7
The Ice Dogs lost their 10th straight game on the road Friday night, this time at the hands of the Fresno Falcons. It was actually a close game when Craig Lyons tied the score at 3-3 early in th3 3rd period. But four unanswered goals in a span of 4:33 crushed the Ice Dogs. Boris Protsenko of the Falcons had a hat trick, marking the second straight game that Long Beach has had a player score three goals against them.
12/14/03 > Long Beach 2 at Bakersfield 9
It was another disastrous game on the road for the Ice Dogs, this time dropping their 11th straight road game 9-2 to a team they shut out earlier this year. The team is winless in its last seven games, their longest streak of the season. Goaltender Colin Zulianello was pulled for the second straight game after surrendering three goals on nine shots in the first period. Craig Lyons and Nick Ganga had the goals for Long Beach.
This Weeks' Games:
12/17/03 > Long Beach @ Las Vegas
The Ice Dogs will make their first visit of the season to Las Vegas on Wednesday as they will once again try to snap their 7 game winless streak and 11 game road winless skid. The Wranglers defeated the Ice Dogs in Long Beach earlier this season by a score of 4-1. The teams will become very familiar with each other as they will meet seven more times this season.
12/19/03 > Long Beach vs. San Diego
The Ice Dogs will return home Friday night to play the San Diego Gulls in a game that was originally scheduled for January 4th. Long Beach and San Diego have split a pair of meetings this season, each winning on home ice. The Ice Dogs came away with a 1-0 shootout victory back on November 15th, but were downed by the Gulls November 28th by a score of 6-1.
12/20/03 > Long Beach vs. San Diego
The Ice Dogs and Gulls will play their second of back-to-back games against each other Saturday night. Long Beach will be introducing its 3rd jersey when it takes the ice. The teams will meet seven more times this season.
12/21/03 > Long Beach vs. Fresno
Sunday will be an opportunity for revenge against the Falcons, who handed the Ice Dogs a 7-3 loss last weekend. The Falcons are 2-1 against Long Beach this year, but the home team has won each game so far. The teams will meet four more times this season.
