LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 1-2-1 OVERALL RECORD: 8-15-2, 18 pts.

Dec. 9 vs. Alaska, 5-4 Overtime Loss – The Falcons pulled their goaltender and Brad Mehalko sent the game to overtime by scoring with 32.1 seconds remaining in regulation, but Fresno was unable to prevail in the extra session when the Aces tallied the game-winner at the 2:00 mark for a 5-4 victory.

Dec. 10 vs. Charlotte, 4-1 Loss – A red-hot Charlotte Checkers team that would eventually win all six games of a six-game road swing through the Pacific Division defeated the Falcons, 4-1, keeping Fresno winless for a team record-tying ninth straight game.

Dec. 12 vs. Long Beach, 7-3 Win – The Falcons snapped their nine-game winless streak by scoring four goals in the game's final 5:12 to break open a 3-3 tie against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. The club's previous win to that point was also against Long Beach on Nov. 21 at Save Mart Center. Boris Protsenko recorded the team's second hat trick of the season, and goaltender Will Hamele picked up the win in his first career start.

Dec. 14 vs. Las Vegas, 6-3 Loss – On the night Fresno retired the #21 jersey of former Falcon and current Las Vegas Wranglers head coach Glen Gulutzan, the Falcons' all-time leading scorer's team broke a 3-3 tie with three goals in the third period to win 6-3.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Tuesday, Dec. 16 vs. San Diego, 7 p.m. – The Falcons welcome the Gulls to Fresno for the first time since the two clubs met in the Taylor Cup Finals last spring. The game is a Carl's Jr. Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at all participating Carl's Jr. restaurants.

Sunday, Dec. 21 @ Long Beach, 5 p.m. (Live radio broadcast on KAAT 103.1 FM at 4:50 p.m.)

NOTES

· Defenseman Kevin Truelson has scored goals in three straight games, including Friday's game-winner, which ignited the Falcons' four-goal third period outburst.

· With a goal and three assists last week, Greg Bullock now has points in 22 of the team's 25 games this season.

· The Falcons set several season highs during Friday night's win, including most goals in a game (7), largest margin of victory (+4), points in a game (4, Protsenko), assists in a game (3, Blair Clarance) and shots in a game (7, Protsenko).

· Fresno is 14th (16.7%) on the power play this season and 22nd (81.3%) on the penalty kill.

· The Falcons begin the week in sixth place in the Pacific Division, four points ahead of the last-place Long Beach Ice Dogs. They are eight points back of the San Diego Gulls, who currently reside in the Pacific's final playoff position.

THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE TIMES

The Falcons will skate Tuesday at Save Mart Center at 10 a.m. They are tentatively scheduled to take Wednesday off before returning to practice at Gateway Ice Center on Thursday and Friday at 10 a.m. The club leaves for Long Beach on Saturday.
