
Bombers Hit Hard as Homestand Wrapped Up

Dayton Bombers News Release
The Bombers wrapped up a 6 game home stand this past weekend going 3-2-1. The Bombers return home this Friday, December 19, 2003 (7:00pm) and Saturday, December 20, 2003 (7:00pm). Both game are versus the Johnstown Chiefs. Below is a recap of last week's games:
12/11/03 â BOMBERS 5 vs. Peoria 4 SO
Jamie O'Leary netted the game-winner in a shoot-out, lifting the Dayton Bombers to a 5-4 win over the Peoria Rivermen. O'Leary scored the first Dayton goal 9:18 into the first period to tie the game at 1-1. Olivier Proulx added a goal 58 seconds into the third period to knot the game at 3-3, and Janne Jokila scored the game-tying goal for the Bombers with under five minutes remaining to send the game into overtime. Andrew Penner stopped 38 shots for Dayton, which remained unbeaten in its past six games (5-0-1).
12/12/03 â BOMBERS 4 vs. Reading 8
Judd Medak finished with two goals and three assists as the Reading Royals topped the Dayton Bombers, 8-4. Reading, which finished with five power-play goals to match the league high it previously achieved on November 2. Cody Rudkowsky recorded 28 of his 35 saves over the final two periods to earn the win for the Royals, who have won four of their last five. Chad Theuer and Jamie O'Leary both notched a pair of scores for Dayton, which led 2-0 and 3-2 before Reading recorded six of the final seven scores. Andrew Penner stopped 32 shots in a losing effort for the Bombers, who had their six-game points streak (5-0-1) stopped.
12/13/03 â BOMBERS 3 @ Wheeling 4
J.C. Ruid scored late in the third period to give the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 victory over the Dayton Bombers. After the two clubs traded goals to get the score to 3-3, Ruid notched his third game-winner in seven games with 4:07 left. Jason Jaffray finished with two goals and an assist for the Nailers, who won their fifth straight. Nick Boucher stopped 13 of 27 shots in the second period to improve to 7-0-0 over his last eight games. Chad Theuer, Nate Kiser and Jason Deskins each tallied for Dayton, which finished a six-game homestand with a 3-2-1 mark. Andrew Penner made 30 saves, including 25 over the first two periods, in a losing effort for the Bombers.
BOMBERS BITES: Martin Paquet has eleven points (2 G, 9 A) in his last seven games.
