Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Attention Hockey Fans! Did you know that our local schools are "slashing" their budgets for books? That they are "shorthanded" for education materials? Would you like to help?
"Check" your homes and see if you are "holding" on to any children's books that you would like to donate to Book Buddies by Molina Healthcare, a literary program that provides free books to children and promotes reading.
Pick up a book bag between January 19, 2007 and February 23rd at the Ice Dogs Sales Tent, fill it with new or gently used children's books and return it to the game on Police and Fire Night, Saturday February 24, 2007, when the Ice Dogs face-off with the Alaska Aces.
As a thank you for supporting our book drive, we will provide you with a free ticket to the Friday March 16th game vs. the Bakersfield Condors. Help us score our goal of collecting 5,000 books!
The Ice Dogs will be back home at the Long Beach Arena this Friday night against the Alaska Aces at 7:30. Doors will be open at 6:00 and ladies plan to come early to take part in our "Chippendale's Ladies Night" where you'll have the chance to be pampered all evening with courtesy manicures and massages. Come back on Saturday night for our 7:00 game to participate in "Flashback to the 80's Night". Start practicing for our 80's karaoke contest and be ready to show off your best 80's wardrobe for your chance to win our dance and costume contest. Tickets for both games are still available by calling an account executive at (562) ICE-DOGS.
