Vicari Headed to Grand Rapids

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that rookie goaltender Dominic Vicari (Vi-CAR-ee) has been called up to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Toledo added goaltender Matt McBride as an emergency backup.

Vicari, the Clinton Township, Michigan native will make his first career trip to the AHL after playing in 18 games with the Toledo Storm this season. During those games, Vicari has earned a 6-10-0 record while posting a 3.52 goals against average and an 0.891 save percentage. The former Michigan State Spartan started a career high 13 straight games from December 10th through January 7th, where he went 5-8-0 posting a 3.47 GAA and a .901 SVP. Vicari opened his professional career with a 30 save performance in a 3-2 shootout win against Reading on October 27th.
