Dayton bombs Chiefs, 6-3

Johnstown, PA (January 19, 2007) - The Dayton Bombers defeated the Johnstown Chiefs by a score of 6-3 on Friday night.

Johnstown got on the board 35 seconds into the game when Dmitri Tarabrin beat Dayton goaltender Adam Berkhoel through the legs with a wrist shot. Dayton's Yannick Tifu would tie the score for the Bombers at the 6:13 mark of the first, beating Chiefs goalie Morgan Cey with a wrist shot. Stanislav Lascek beat Berkhoel for his sixth goal of the season to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead at 17:30, making a move that dropped Berkhoel to the ice and then depositing the puck in the net.

The Chiefs got out to a 3-1 lead when Dmitri Tarabrin deflected P.J. Atherton's shot from the point past Berkhoel at 7:59. Matt Herneisen's power-play goal at 18:12 pulled Dayton within one going into the second intermission.

Dayton scored four unanswered goals in the third period, with Scott Ford, Brett Walton, Joe Cullen, and Yannick Tifu potting his second of the game as the Bombers dominated the third period en route to victory.
