
Cyclones' Desjardins Named RBK Hockey Goalie Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Cincinnati Cyclones rookie Cedrick Desjardins is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 8-14.
The 21-year-old was 3-1-0 to help the Cyclones go 4-1-0 and enter
the All-Star break in first place in the North Division at 21-13-3. He
allowed only one goal in each of his three wins, lowering his goals-against
average to 2.32 which is second in the ECHL. He leads the ECHL with four
shutouts and is 16-8-0 with a save percentage of .924.
Desjardins is assigned to Cincinnati by the Montreal Canadiens of
the National Hockey League and under contract to the Hamilton Bulldogs of
the American Hockey League. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the
Canadiens and the Bulldogs.
The native of Edmundston, New Brunswick has played each of the last
four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he was 67-47-4
with seven shutouts, a goals-against average of 3.51 and a save percentage
of .901 in 128 regular season games with Rimouski and Quebec from
2002-06.
The 6-foot and 192-pound Desjardins helped Quebec win the 2006
Memorial Cup, earning Outstanding Goaltender and First Team All-Star
honors. He was 28-10-0 with five shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.95
and a save percentage of .906 in 41 regular season games in 2005-06.
