
American Conference Wins All-Star Game: Second Half of Season Starts Tonight

Pensacola, FL (January 19, 2007) Head Coach Malcolm Cameron and Wildcatters' All-Stars Kevin Baker, Paul Albers and Mike Madill helped the American Conference to a 6-3 win in the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game. Baker scored a goal and added an assist while Albers had two helpers in the win. The American Conference took a 2-1 lead in the second period when Baker walked in through the crease, waited patiently and went top shelf on goaltender Devan Dubnyk.
The Wildcatters now begin the second half of the 72 game ECHL season with a short road trip to Pensacola to take on the Ice Pilots on Friday and Saturday night. Then they return home for an afternoon game on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. against Pensacola which begins a seven game home stand. The 2006-07 Wildcatters have set new team records through the first 36 games.
The 'Catters have 47 points and own a record of 21-10-2-3 sitting just one point behind first place Florida and Gwinnett in the American Conference's South Division. For the first time in team history, Texas won their season opening game and their home opener. The 'Catters also won a team record six games in a row from November 18 to November 28. The Wildcatters have sent five different players up to the AHL this season. Three are under an ECHL contract.
The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros. The next Wildcatters home game is on Sunday, January 21 vs. the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
