Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will host their third annual "Hockey For Her" fundraising event, sponsored by Comcast, at their practice facility in the Hoffman Estates Park District Community Center and Ice Arena, 1685 W. Higgins Road, on Wed., March 18, at 7 p.m.

"Hockey For Her" provides women an introductory glance at the sport by giving them the chance to go behind the scenes of a professional team.

"This is a unique event and is unlike any of our other fundraisers. It gives women a rare behind-the-scenes glance at practice facility and exclusive access to the coaches and players as they demonstrate workouts, how to shoot and more," said Wolves Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "I think it is a great way for women to come together and help raise money for the National Ovarian Coalition and other Chicagoland charities we work with."

A $55 registration fee includes a sneak peek at the Wolves state-of-the-art practice facility, strength and conditioning instruction from Assistant Coach WENDELL YOUNG, an equipment demo by Assistant Coach JASON CHRISTIE and the chance to talk strategy with Head Coach DON GRANATO.

Several Wolves players including MIKE HOFFMAN, JORDAN LaVALLEE, ONDREJ PAVELEC, GRANT LEWIS and STEVE MARTINS will also be on hand to answer questions about the game and their lives as professional athletes.

In addition, participants will take home gift bags, enjoy refreshments courtesy of Sweet Baby Ray's in Elk Grove and Pepsi, and have the chance to bid on items including lunch with the players, private ice time with Assistant Coach Wendell Young, autographed memorabilia and special game packages at a silent auction throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the National Ovarian Coalition, the Alzheimer's Association and Chicago Wolves charities. For more information, or to sign up, log on to chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
