Crunch, Mahar to Sell 100 'Mystery Autographed' Pucks

Syracuse, NY (March 10, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have teamed up with Central New York's meteorologist Wayne Mahar to sell 100 'mystery autographed' game pucks at the club's game this Saturday, March 14 vs. Rochester to benefit the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation.

For $10 fans will have the opportunity to purchase a bag that contains a puck with a mystery autograph. The bags will be sold by Mahar and Crunch players' wives and girlfriends outside the Crunch's main office located on the Montgomery Street side of War Memorial at Oncenter.

Pucks signed by Columbus Blue Jackets players Rick Nash, Steve Mason, Christian Backman and Manny Malhotra as well as all the current Crunch players are among those available.

Foundation t-shirts will also be for sale, and Doppler the Weathercat will make an appearance.

All proceeds raised will benefit the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation.

The Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation is a not-for-profit organization started in 2008 by Central New York's meteorologist Wayne Mahar in honor of his mother, who, like Wayne, was an animal lover.

Through various events, the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation raises and distributes money to animal welfare organizations throughout Central New York.

The Crunch's next game is Wednesday, March 11 as they take on Toronto at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
