Haydar Re-Joins Wolves

February 12, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned right wing DARREN HAYDAR, the American Hockey League's leading scorer, to the Chicago Wolves.

The 27-year-old forward was held scoreless in four games with the Thrashers after being recalled on Feb. 2, his first National Hockey League action since the 2002-2003 season when he appeared in two outings with the Nashville Predators.

HAYDAR leads the AHL with 89 points - just three shy of the career-best total he posted in 80 games last season - and a career-high 59 assists in 49 outings this year. He shares third in the league with 30 goals and ranks second overall with a +27 plus/minus rating.

Earlier this season, the Toronto native made history when he set an AHL and Chicago franchise record by notching a point in 39 consecutive contests from Oct. 7 to Jan. 6, racking up 79 (24G, 55A) during that time. His historic run is tied with Wayne Gretzky's 39-game run with the Edmonton Oilers (NHL) in 1985-86 for the fourth longest streak in professional hockey history.

HAYDAR also established a franchise record by registering an assist in 14 straight tilts from Nov. 4 to Dec. 8. He has collected multiple points in 26 of his 49 games this year, which includes seven three-point efforts and five four-point performances.
