A Quick Look Back

2.7.06 - Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2 - Worcester Sharks 1 OT

The Sharks picked up their fifth point in three games, but Sound Tigers forward Eric Boguniecki scored with 27 seconds remaining in overtime for the extra point. Worcester forward Lukas Kaspar scored the lone goal for Team Teal, while goaltender Dimitri Patzold made 23 saves.

2.9.07 - Providence Bruins 5 - Worcester Sharks 4 OT

For the second straight game, the Worcester Sharks dropped a dramatic overtime decision to the Providence Bruins by a score of 5-4 on Saturday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Sharks netminder Thomas Greiss played a fantastic game with 30 saves, but suffered his eighth loss of the season. Lukas Kaspar paced the Sharks with one goal and one assist for a two-point night.

2.10.07 - Manchester Monarchs 3 - Worcester Sharks 0

Barry Brust turned aside 34 Worcester shots to lead the Monarchs to a 3-0 win over the Sharks. Shay Stephenson scored twice to pace the offense for Manchester. Thomas Greiss, making his second consecutive start, made 33-saves in the contest for Worcester.

Kaspar Cashing In...

Sharks forward Lukas Kaspar is playing well of late. In three games this week, Kaspar recorded two goals and one assist for three points and finished with a plus-three rating. His tally against the Sound Tigers was shorthanded, his first of the year while on the penalty kill. The San Jose first-rounder has a 7+17=24 line in 50 games played.

Bernier Returns...

Forward Steve Bernier is expected to make a return to the Sharks lineup this week. Bernier blocked a shot in Portland on January 14 and ended up breaking his toe in the process. The gritty forward was expected to be out four to six weeks in order to heal, but made a speedy recovery. The Quebec native should add a strong presence to Worcester's lineup as he has recorded six points (2+4=6) in just seven games and is a plus-four.

Third Period Success...

The Worcester Sharks have outscored their opponents by a total of 17 goals in the third period. Worcester has scored 57 goals in the third period and have allowed just 40 goals into their own net in the same period. Team Teal has scored 151 goals this season and have allowed the same number of goals into their own goal. Worcester is a strong 8-2-2-2 when tied with their opponent entering the third period.

FINZ and Rome have Valentine's Day Surprise...

In conjunction with WSRS 96.1 FM and Perro's Flowers, Worcester Sharks forward Ashton Rome and FINZ will deliver flowers and Sharks tickets to lucky listeners on Wednesday. From 6:00 am to 3:00 pm on Valentine's Day, listeners will have the chance to win a dozen roses and four Sharks tickets by being the ninth caller every hour when they hear the Jaws theme.

Sharks defensemen Dan Spang and Garrett Stafford eat healthy food everyday. On a regular basis, you can find them at KnowFat Lifestyle Grille in White City Plaza. Thursday will be no different as the two up and coming D-men will visit KnowFat for dinner and sign some autographs in the process. Don't miss this great opportunity to eat healthy food with the Pro's and get their autograph.
