Grizzlies Sign Goaltender Lawson

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that the team has signed goaltender Nathan Lawson. The Grizzlies claimed Lawson off of waivers Monday from the Phoenix RoadRunners. The team also announced that goaltender Brett Jaeger has been placed on 3-day IR.

The Grizzlies are proud affiliates of the New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The 24-year-old rookie netminder started five games with Phoenix this season going 3-2-0-0 with a goals against average of 3.01 and a save percentage of .910.

He made his professional debut October 20 and recorded a shutout versus the Grizzlies stopping 27 Utah shots.

The Calgary native played three years of college hockey at the University of Alaska at Anchorage.

Utah opens a three-game road trip Saturday in Stockton, California. Face-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Wednesday, November 28 opening a ten-game home stand starting with the Stockton Thunder. All Utah home games start at 7:05 p.m.
