Kudelka Heads To Binghamton As Redlihs Rejoins Jackals
November 23, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Tomas Kudelka has been reassigned by Ottawa (NHL) from Elmira to Binghamton (AHL) while the Syracuse (AHL) Crunch have loaned defenseman Jekabs Redlihs to the Jackals as the club prepares for a three-game home stand that opens tonight at First Arena.
Kudelka, whose goal at 8:28 of the third period lifted Elmira to a 4-3 lead in an eventual 6-3 win at Gwinnett Tuesday, has two goals and eight points in 11 games with a -5 and six penalty minutes with the Jackals this season. Both of his goals have been game-winners and his eight points is tied for fourth in team scoring.
The loan of Redlihs by the Syracuse Crunch comes at an opportune time with the departure of Kudelka and fellow defenseman Luke Fritshaw placed on the 30-day injured reserve list earlier this week.
Redlihs appeared in one game earlier this season with the Jackals with no points and an even rating in a 2-0 win over Dayton November 9th at First Arena. He appeared in 13 games this season with Syracuse posting a goal and two assists for three points and a +4 rating with 10 PIM.
REdlihs is expected to be in the line-up this evening when the Jackals return to First Arena ice for the first time in nearly two weeks and tangle with the Trenton Devils at 7:35 p.m. It's Bully Hill Vineyards Hat Giveaway Night and good seats still remain or tonight's match. Saturday night at 7:35 p.m., it's the Jackals and Reading Royals battle for North Division supremacy and just two points separating the two heading into weekend play. The weekend wraps up with the Columbia Inferno invading Elmira Sunday at 4:05 p.m. in the only meeting of the year between the clubs that features a post-game skate with the Jackals.
Tickets for all Jackals home games may be purchased in person at the Gray Street box office at First Arena (10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday), Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 722-3711, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, and by calling 734-PUCK (7825).
