Grizzlies Fall In Shootout To Stockton

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies were unable to hold a 3-1 third period lead and fell 4-3 in a shootout Wednesday night to Stockton at the E-Center. With the shootout loss, the Grizzlies still remain unbeaten in their last three games.

In the second period, the Grizzlies scored three-straight goals, building a 3-1 second intermission lead. Scott Burt (8, 9) scored the first and third Utah goals with Keith Johnson scoring his team leading 12th goal of the year to give Utah a 2-1 lead.

In the third period, Stockton scored two goals within 1:14 of each other at 13:54 and 15:08 to tie the game and force overtime.

Utah outshot Stockton 2-0 in the overtime as the game went to the shootout.

In the shootout, Utah took a 1-0 lead on a Keith Johnson goal. Stockton then scored two-straight in rounds three and four. Scott Burt had one last chance for the Grizzlies in round five but was unable to beat goaltender Tim Boron.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday and Saturday hosting Stockton. Face-off both nights are scheduled at 7:05 p.m.
