
Wranglers Win Ninth Straight, Clip Condors 4-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 4-1 in front of 3,292 fans Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. Goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 29 of 30 Bakersfield shots for the team's ninth straight victory. Captain Peter Ferraro scored twice as Las Vegas improved to 13-2-0 on the season. Forwards Brandon Kaleniecki and Tyler Mosienko also scored in the win. Center Chris Ferraro took over the team lead in scoring with two assists, pushing his total to 19 points. Las Vegas will host Idaho at 9:30 am on Thursday morning for School Field Trip Day at the Orleans Arena.
Right wing Peter Ferraro snapped a scoreless tie in the opening period with a blast from the right-wing circle that beat Bakersfield goalie Yutaka Fukufuji five-hole at 13:31. Peter's twin brother Chris assisted on Peter's seventh goal of the season and his 700th career point.
After a scoreless second period, Las Vegas pushed the lead to 3-0 with goals by Brandon Kaleniecki and Peter Ferraro. The eventual game winner was scored by Kaleniecki off a pass from defensemen Mike Madill at 6:23 of the third. Kaleniecki's sixth goal of the season gave Las Vegas a 2-0 lead. Just 1:29 seconds later, Ferraro tallied his second of the night and his eighth goal of the season for a 3-0 lead. Bakersfield spoiled Kevin Lalonde's shutout bid with 3:10 remaining as David Kudelka scored unassisted. The goal ended a string of 116:50 of scoreless hockey for Lalande. Las Vegas added an empty-net goal as center Tyler Mosienko scored his fifth of the season with 54-seconds left for the 4-1 final.
Las Vegas will host Idaho for a three-game set starting on Thursday at 9:30 am. The two teams will play again on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm.
