
'Blades add two more to roster

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the team has acquired forward Mike McLean from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for future considerations, and that the team has signed forward Chris Rebernik to a contract.
McLean, who will join the Everblades for Friday's game vs. Alaska, has played in six games with the Jackals this season registering two assists and two penalty minutes. The 21-year-old is in his first full professional season after making his professional debut during the playoffs with the Kalamazoo Wings of the now defunct United Hockey League last year. In 15 post-season games with the Wings last season, McLean tallied seven points (2g, 5a) and four PIM.
Prior to turning pro, the Oshawa, Ontario native spent the last four seasons at the junior level in the Ontario Hockey League with Oshawa and Guelph. His best junior season came in 2006-07 when he notched a career-high 58 points (29g, 29a) as the captain of the Guelph Storm. Overall during his junior career in the OHL McLean tallied 106 points (46g, 60a) in 239 games.
Rebernik joins the Everblades after beginning the season in the Southern Professional Hockey League with the Jacksonville Barracudas. In 10 games with Jacksonville the 22-year-old centerman registered 17 points (9g, 8a) and 27 PIM. The Mississauga, Ontario native made his professional debut last season in the SPHL with the Pee Dee Cyclones, where he skated in 53 games, notching 47 points (20g, 27a) and 27 PIM. Prior to turning pro Rebernik spent the past five seasons splitting time at the junior level between the OHL and the OPJHL.
