
Goulet Returns, Assigned From Springfield

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has announced right wing Stephane Goulet (Goo-LAY) has been re-assigned to the Thunder from Springfield.
Goulet, 21, returns for his second season in a Thunder uniform after scoring 40 points (17g-23a) in 69 games with 58 penalty minutes for Stockton last season and ranked fourth on the team in points (40) and goals (17). A seventh round selection (208th overall) of the Oilers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Goulet began this season with Springfield and tallied a goal with six penalty minutes in nine games.
In last season's Kelly Cup Playoffs, Goulet registered an assist with two penalty minutes in five ECHL playoff games.
The Levis, Quebec native has appeared in 80 career professional games with the Thunder and the AHL's Falcons and Grand Rapids Griffins, scoring 41 points (18g-23a) with 66 penalty minutes. Goulet appeared in 190 games in his three-year QMJHL career (2003-06) with Quebec and Moncton, scoring 154 points (79-75a) with 131 penalty minutes. Goulet scored a junior career-high 51 goals and 93 points (51g-42a) in 67 games with Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2005-06, leading Moncton in goal-scoring.
Goulet helped guide Moncton to a 2005-06 QMJHL President's Cup Championship and Memorial Cup Final appearance, scoring 15 points (7g-8a) in 13 playoff games. He appeared in 30 career playoff games in his junior career, scoring 25 points (10g-15a).
