Grizzlies Drop Rubber Game Of Alaska Series

Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-0 Saturday night in Anchorage. Utah finishes the Anchorage swing 1-2 after last night's 6-4 win.

Alaska jumped up 1-0 in the first period at 16:38 on a power-play goal by former Grizzlies defenseman Peter Metcalf. Alaska outshot Utah 23-5 in the period.

The Aces continued to use late period special teams in the second. Alaska scored a power-play goal and two shorthanded goals after the 15:38 mark to build a 4-0 lead into the second intermission.

Alaska added two even-strength goals in the third period to build the lead to six.

Utah netminder Sean Fields stopped 51 of 57 in the game.

The Grizzlies continue their seven-game road trip Wednesday in Bakersfield. Face-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
