CINCINNATI, Ohio - Two goals in a 64 second span of the third period allowed Reading to tie the Cincinnati Cyclones and force a shootout that the Royals would win and give them a 5-4 victory. Chris Bala and Greg Hogeboom scored in the final three minutes to send the game into the extra frame.

Reading opened the scoring at 3:54 of the first period when Dany Roussin netted his third goal of the season. The Cyclones answered less than three minutes later when Jean-Michel Daoust collected his eleventh goal of the campaign at 5:37. Daoust netted a power play goal, with an assist from defenseman Rory Rawlyk.

The teams exchanged goals again in the second period. Reading opened the scoring at 1:25, when Greg Hogeboom netted his 18th goal of the season. Cincinnati answered quickly again, when Daoust collected his second of the night and 12th of the season at 2:12. Cory Urquhart and Jimmy Bonneau gathered the assists.

Cincinnati opened a 4-2 lead in the third period on goals by Jason Deitsch and Sam Ftorek, before Reading's late heroics tied the game. In the shootout, Reading scored twice, while the Cyclones could only get one score-coming from Daoust.

Cyclones goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris made his first start for the club since Dec. 2, stopping 36 shots and running his unbeaten streak to three games (1-0-2). Grumet-Morris had been with Portland (AHL), posting a 1-1-2 record and a 1.78 goals against average and .950 save percentage.

Earlier in the day, rookie forward Mathieu Aubin was recalled to Hamilton (AHL). Aubin registered four goals and ten assists for 14 points in 15 games with Cincinnati. The Cyclones activated another rookie forward, Erik Johnson, from the injured reserve list in his place--and he made his first appearance in 13 games.

The Cyclones extended their club record for consecutive games without a regulation time loss with the triumph-pushing the number to eleven. Cincinnati is 9-0-2 in its last twelve games at U.S. Bank Arena. The last time an ECHL club had a longer streak was Gwinnett, which strung together a 16-game stretch (15-0-1) from Jan. 14 through March 14 of last season. Cincinnati has not lost a game in regulation time at U.S. Bank Arena since dropping a 5-0 verdict to Dayton on Nov. 16. The Cyclones are 11-5-3 in all games since that night.

The Cyclones are now 16-12-1-2, tied with Dayton for the North Division lead. Reading is now 15-15-0-4 and is in third place in the North Division. The Cyclones are next in action against Toledo Sunday at 3:05pm. The contest will be played at the Toledo Sports Arena.
