Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies scored two third period goals and goaltender Aaron Dell stopped all 24 shots that he saw in his Maverik Center debut on the way to a 2-0 win over the Ontario Reign Saturday night.

"The guys came out and played a really good defensive game tonight, we got some goals in the end and got the win," said Dell.

Rylan Galliardi hammered in a rebound on a Channing Boe shot 11:01 into the final period of regulation to give Utah a 1-0 lead. Mathieu Aubin got the puck up ice and picked up the second assist.

"We did what it took to win the game," said Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham. "We talked about it all game; having a good start, playing a good second and the third period has been our weakest this season. We talked about coming out and playing the right way; the guys played the right way tonight and they were rewarded for it."

After an Aaron Dell save, Galiardi won a battle to setup a two-on-one for T.J. Battani who fed Kris Hogg for his second goal of the year with 1:41 remaining giving Utah a 2-0 lead.

Dell made several big stops to keep the game scoreless, including in the first period with Utah on a five-on-three shorthanded situation.

The win improves Utah to 2-1-1-1 at Maverik Center this year and gives Ontario (5-1-1-2) their first regulation loss of the campaign.

Monday is the first Maverik Monday of the year. Get six tickets for $30 with a receipt from Maverik. Face-off is at 7 p.m.
