San Francisco Bulls News Release
SAN FRANCISCO - After an eight-game road trip, the San Francisco Bulls (3-5-1-0) finally had their Home Opener at the Cow Palace, and came away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (0-7-0-1), Friday night at the Cow Palace. Dean Ouellet and Kyle Bigos both scored their first goals of the year to account for the Bulls tallies. Tyler Beskorowany was great in net, stopping 34 of 35 shots. Prior to the start of the game, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee dropped the ceremonial first puck.
The Bulls jumped out to a 1-0 lead when at 8:29 of the first period, Ouellet played some dïÿý=89jïÿý=80 vu, scoring the team's first goal on home ice, equaling last year's feat. He received assists from Riley Brace and Dylan King. After 20 minutes, San Francisco held a 1-0 lead. In an active period, the Bulls led in shots, 15-13
San Francisco wasted little time extending their lead, getting an unassisted tally from Bigos just 1:12 into the second period. Bakersfield responded with 2:18 remaining, finally beating Beskorowany on a goal from Wes Cunningham. George Hughes and Michael Neal were credited with the helpers. Heading into the third the Bulls remained on top, with a 2-1 lead.
The physicality increased in the final period, with several big blows being dealt in both directions. Despite a barrage of shots, Beskorowany stood tall and kept the Condors off the scoreboard, sealing their first home victory of the season.
