
Condors Clip Wranglers, 2-1

Las Vegas - The Bakersfield Condors edged the Las Vegas Wranglers 2-1 tonight, earning their first win of the season.
Condors center Joel Broda scored 4:13 into the contest, giving Bakersfield the early 1-0 lead. A late-period goal from Condors right wing Jordan Knackstedt fortified the team's advantage, going up 2-0 at the end of the first with a 15-2 shot lead.
Wranglers goalie Mitch O'Keefe and Condors goalie Andy Chiodo held the second period scoreless as the Vegas offense sparked a 10-6 shot lead. Midway through the third, Wranglers defenseman Jeff May posted his fifth goal of the season on a power play opportunity, making it a 2-1 game. O'Keefe was briefly pulled for the man advantage, but unable to capitalize, the Wranglers fell to the Condors as they held onto the one-goal lead.
In the loss, Wranglers left wing Adam Hughesman made his season debut, and O'Keefe made 26 saves.
The Wranglers continue their nine-game road trip with three games against the Alaska Aces starting Friday, Nov. 15. Returning home to Orleans Arena on Friday, Dec. 6, the Wranglers fill face the Condors and The Smithereens will play a post-game concert.
